Don't know about maintenance on your bike but it's likely that the fuel filter is original so good idea to replace it and the associated plumbing unless that's been done before easy job. Check the temp gauge because it's analog and subject to water damage. Seems a common thing for POs is to short the fan wire to ground so it runs all the time. Judging from lots of other folks with V30s, good idea to check your cooling fan and make sure it operates. If you have difficulty getting to 70mph there's a problem because this bike will get there about as fast as you want to. Mine revs like no bike I've ever had so I'm not going to do anything to the carbs until performance degrades. Suggest you download the FSM from this site and check out page 4-8 regarding pilot screws. If you have more time than money, rebuild the extra set yourself, then sell the extra set back on eBay. If you have more money than time, send the carb bank you bought to MagnAndy, (check his sig for threads on rebuilding them yourself) and just work on the rest of the bike until you get them back.

You need to rebuild either the ones ON the bike, or the ones OFF the bike, (if in fact you got a bank of FOUR carbs of eBay, not ONE). Now if you bought a new (used) bank of carbs off eBay, you are in the same position as you were before you bought them. This is how the other bikes is the series are. I also believe that what you have is a bank of FOUR carbs, NOT one. I believe what you need is a rebuild of your carb bank. People have paid less for V30s in better condition, and they have paid more for V30s in worse condition. Keep in mind yours is a two-year, limited production bike that is highly desirable, even collectible to some.
